This position provides technical assistance on complex water resource management issues to the Colorado Water Conservation Board, in support of the Colorado Water Plan directives, on a broad range of water resource planning programs and initiatives including geospatial mapping, data visualization support, interactive tool development, as well as support for public education, outreach and engagement initiatives, and general administrative needs for the Water Supply Planning section.
 
This position, under the supervision of the Section Chief and working closely with the Section Lead for GIS, Environment, and Engagement is responsible for analyzing and monitoring technical aspects of water supply, water use, and watershed health in Colorado, supporting the creation and upkeep of associated GIS mapping and data visualization tools, as well as supporting education and inclusion opportunities with stakeholders. The position works on complex resource matters related to the development, protection, and conservation of Colorado’s water resources as well as supporting broad community engagement processes, stakeholder groups and mediating conflicts.
 
Major planning efforts this position supports include the Analysis and Technical Update, Basin Implementation Plans, the Colorado Water Plan and supporting grant making for local water projects. In each case, this position not only supports the geospatial mapping elements of these plans but also supports community engagement initiatives.
