Establishing Native Grass on Non-Irrigated Sites

  • Wednesday, May 21, 2025
  • 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Microsoft Teams

Establishing native grasses without irrigation can be challenging in Colorado. Join us for an insightful interview with Don Hijar and Casey Davenhill, where we'll explore the best practices for native grass seeding and establishment on non-irrigated sites. We'll delve into lessons learned from the revegetation of thousands of acres of dryland wheat using native grasses and discuss how these practices can be adapted to urban and suburban environments. By attending, you'll gain valuable knowledge on how to successfully grow grasses without irrigation systems, given the right approach, a pocketful of patience, and a bit of luck from Mother Nature.

Casey Davenhill, Executive Director, Watershed Assembly and Don Hijar, Owner, Pawnee Butte Seed
